Amber is a student at Sweet Amoris who will be a traditional bully to your Candy along with Li and Charlotte. Amber is Nathaniel's twin sister, and she's naturally mean to your Candy from the start, no matter what choices you make. Her past gives your Candy an explanation for her current actions, but whether it justifies them or not is a decision that each person will have to make for themselves. She is your Candy's main antagonist, with the exception of Deborah.

She is followed by her two friends, Li and Charlotte, who will also be mean to the player's Candy.

About[]

In Episode 2, it is revealed that Amber has a crush on Castiel, which may explain her behavior with your Candy.

Amber is into fashion and has a minor peanut allergy that causes her to break out in a rash. She also has a fear of spiders.

History[]

When she was little, Amber was constantly teased by her older brother, Nathaniel. He used to pull her hair, and once he took her favorite toy (a doll) and broke it on purpose. Castiel saw Amber crying about it, so he fixed the doll and gave it back to her. Since then, Amber has harbored feelings for Castiel, even though he doesn't seem to feel the same way. Amber's relationship with her brother has been greatly affected by his bullying in their past, and it seems that both siblings are still looking back on their childhood. Amber is more cold and harsh towards Nathaniel, and the two haven't been able to be close because of the wall Amber has put up between herself and her brother. The events of Nathaniel's bullying of Amber have also affected the way their parents treat them.

Amber was also around when Deborah was in school. Most likely due to Deborah and Castiel dating, Amber has always disliked her and feels even more hatred towards her when Deborah uses Castiel. Amber was angry that her brother and Castiel would not be able to be friends after the events of Deborah's manipulation, because then she would not be able to get close to Castiel as easily as she would have if the two had become friends.

In University Life, Amber has mellowed and apologized for her past bullying. She studies French at the Anteros Academy and also models. In University Life, it is revealed that she has suffered from anorexia for several years.

Appearance[]

Amber has long, curly blonde hair that falls to about mid-back. She has turquoise eyes and a birthmark under her left eye. She wears a beige top that is just above her waist, with ruffled sleeves and a ruffled bottom. She wears a brown belt around her waist with a round gold buckle and a light blue band as part of the belt's design. There are three small gold stripes near the buckle. For pants, Amber wears a pair of plain dark blue jeans. Amber also wears several jewelry accessories to complement her style. On both ears she wears large gold hoop earrings with three turquoise beads. On her left wrist, she wears two large turquoise bracelets and three small gold bracelets that don't hang as low as the others. Around her neck, she wears a large necklace consisting of a large turquoise gem set in gold, attached to a gold chain that goes around her neck. Attached to the gem are three gold connectors that are then attached to three turquoise crystals that hang down from the main part of the necklace. Amber is also seen carrying a white handbag on her shoulder, which has a gold clasp attaching the shoulder straps to the bag and a gold band on the strap just above the clasp.

She gets a new look in episode 28 after Priya cuts part of her hair. She now has tight golden curly blonde hair that stops at her shoulders. She now wears a black low-necked top with long sleeves. She wears light blue jeans with a turquoise belt and turquoise bangles. She wears a gold necklace and a small ring. She carries a dark green purse.

On the beach, Amber wears a revealing turquoise bikini that is low-cut with small straps that secure it around her back and neck. A gold chain hangs over her stomach, just below her belly button, and is adorned with three small turquoise beads that hang close together on the left side of her waist. She wears her hair down in her usual style. Even on the beach, Amber still wears her gold earrings and turquoise bracelets on her wrist. After being exposed to peanuts, her skin becomes red and blotchy all over her body.

Amber Orientation

For the orientation race, Amber is always seen with Li and Charlotte. She wears a white and gray athletic outfit like the other students wear for this event. The sport jacket is mostly white with gray trim on the cuffs and around the edges of the jacket opening. Gray stripes decorate the jacket symmetrically, and white cords hang down from the collar and near the bottom of the jacket. A hood is attached to the back of the jacket, but Amber is not seen using it. The sports jacket is left slightly open, revealing a red tank top underneath, leaving her stomach bare. The pants are mostly gray with a white stripe down the side of the legs with gray circles. Her bracelets are not present.

Amber Flower

As part of the open house, the school is putting on a school play, which depends on which play you chose in episode 20. No matter which play is chosen, Amber will always end up with the role of a flower. Her costume consists of large white petals surrounding Amber's face and smaller orange/yellow petals between each of the larger white petals. For her body, she wears a tight green one-piece bodysuit that covers her entire body except for her face and hands. Fake green vines decorated with thorns wrap around her arm, waist, and down to her legs. She can still be seen wearing her turquoise bangles.

Amber-NewLook11

In episode 28, Amber completely changes her style. She wears a low-cut black top with long sleeves, tight light blue jeans with a turquoise belt and turquoise bangles. She replaces her white satchel with a dark green satchel and changes her hoop earrings to long gold earrings.

Personality[]

Amber is automatically mean to your Candy from the start of the game and there is no getting around it. Amber is bold, sneaky, and determined to getting around it things her way. Because of her tendency to get what she wants, Amber is considered bratty and spoiled. However, these traits weren't always part of Amber's personality. They developed after years of being tormented by her older brother, and the effects still affect her today.

Amber is not mean to everyone. She seems to care about her two closest friends, Li and Charlotte, even though she can be hard on them. This can be seen in episode 22 when Li says that they'll have to deal with Amber's wrath later.

Her crush on Castiel is also very obvious, and she drops her "bully" exterior whenever he's around. Amber tends to agree with Castiel when he makes suggestions, and even states that she trusts him in episode 21. Because she has feelings for Castiel, this is another reason for her to resent your Candy.

In university life, your former enemy has changed a lot in the last four years. A late growth spurt has opened the doors of the modeling world to her. Proud of her unique profession, she is nice and seems genuinely happy to see you again.

Friends and Enemies[]

Although Amber can sometimes be hard on her friends, Li is loyal to her and is always seen hanging out with her. Li tends to act as Amber's right-hand woman and is willing to help Amber whenever she's needed. She will defend Amber if your Candy talks bad about her and will not hesitate to take Amber's side in any matter.

Although they don't often talk to each other in front of your Candy, this is most likely due to Charlotte's naturally quiet nature, not because the two aren't close. Charlotte is shown to be very fond of Amber and will defend her whenever it's necessary.

Although not part of her main circle of friends, Capucine shows respect for Amber and acts as her informant. This is especially shown during the sleepover in episode 7, where Capucine tells Amber everything your Candy mentions while gossiping with the other girls at the sleepover. However, Amber does not seem to go out of her way to befriend Capucine, and it seems that Capucine does not quite fit into Amber's group. However, in episode 32, Amber learns of Capucine's relationship with Samuel and begins to despise her. Capucine was very sad at first, but in the end she decides to stay with Samuel and leave Amber's group.

Amber has had feelings for Castiel since childhood, when he fixed her doll. Despite being aware of this, Castiel does not seem to care about her, saying that he only did it out of pity. The situation of Amber's feelings remains unknown for a while, until episode 21, when a conversation between Amber and Boris suggests that she still likes Castiel. This occurs during the role-playing of Sleeping Beauty, in which Amber is initially chosen as the Princess. She makes it clear that she preferred that Castiel be the prince instead of Nathaniel, even though Castiel didn't want the role of the prince. The next day, when choosing the script, Castiel claims that he trusts Mr. Faraize more than his own classmates, but Amber says "I trust you!" and he thanks her. Amber has already given Castiel chocolates for Valentine's Day, and though he accepted and ate them all, he warned that it would not be reciprocated.

From the start, Amber dislikes your Candy and will do petty things to make your Candy's life miserable. Most of Amber's antics towards your Candy are juvenile and aren't really that bad, though they will still irritate and annoy your Candy. Amber becomes even more interested in her "rivalry" with your Candy after episode 4, when your Candy tries to pull pranks on her. Even if Amber works with your Candy, the feud won't end.

When Kentin started studying at Sweet Amoris, he was constantly bullied by Amber and her friends. She stole his money and beat him up. When Kentin returned after his time in military school, he kissed Amber as a form of revenge, although she didn't recognize him and didn't realize it. He then breaks the cell phone that Amber got from your Candy. After Amber realizes that she actually kissed Kentin, she is angry and ashamed.

Amber hates Deborah, but not much is known about the rivalry between them. It most likely stems from the jealousy Amber feels when Deborah goes out with Castiel. When Deborah reappears at Sweet Amoris after months, Amber throws a bucket of toilet water at Deborah in revenge.

Family[]

Amber has a twin sibling who happens to be Nathaniel. As a child, he treated her very badly, which caused a lack of trust between Nathaniel and his family, especially his father. Currently, Nathaniel is trying to have a good relationship with Amber, which is obviously not working out. Due to his position as student council president, Amber can be seen on several occasions asking Nathaniel to do favors for her to give her an advantage, but she hasn't succeeded yet.

Amber's parents, Adelaide and Francis, hold their daughter in high esteem and feel that she can do no wrong. When confronted by Kentin's parents, they don't believe that Amber bullied Kentin in the past and refuse to listen. To them, she is an angel and would never bully another person. They have much more faith and trust in Amber, in contrast to their harsher attitude towards Nathaniel, which allows Amber to get away with anything. However, Adelaide puts a lot of pressure on Amber to succeed in modeling and keeps the rejection letters she receives to encourage her. Later, when it is revealed that Amber suffers from an eating disorder, Nathaniel blames Adelaide for putting "stupid ideas" into her head.

Trivia[]

  • In 2013, the US My Candy Love Facebook page uploaded a photo of Amber with the caption "Amber Jacott", leading many fans to believe that this is Amber and Nathaniel's surname. However, this is not considered canon by Chinomiko, and in Love Life it is revealed that Nathaniel's surname is Carello.
  • She is allergic to nuts.

Manga[]

Just like in the game, Amber is the main antagonist of Candy in the manga. Lynn Darcy is constantly harassed by Amber, and just like in the game, it tends to be over petty things. In the manga, however, she seems more vengeful and will literally chase Lynn down the hallways. Amber still hangs out with Li and Charlotte, and shows hints of a crush on Castiel. Otherwise, she doesn't seem to hang out with the other students, nor does she seem to make a good impression on them. An example of this is when Lynn asks where she is supposed to sit on the bus, Iris points to the back cabin and says she has to sit with Amber and her friends, though Iris has an unimpressed look on her face as she speaks.

Amber also shows anger when Lynn hangs out with her brother. Although the two do not have a strong sibling relationship, she still shows signs of distress when Lynn hangs out with Nathaniel. The manga exclusive character, Viktor, helps Lynn by distracting Amber in ways such as standing in front of her and kissing her. This may indicate that Viktor has feelings for Amber, though she doesn't seem to reciprocate them at this point.

Animated Series[]

In the one-episode animated pilot for "Amour Sucre", Amber makes several appearances. The first time Lynn sees Amber is on her way to school. After thinking back on all the things Ken did to impress her, Lynn drifts off until they come to a stoplight. When she snaps out of her thoughts, she turns her head to look out the window, only to see Amber, Li, and Charlotte giggling at her. The reason is that Lynn's aunt works in the dental field and drives a big van with a giant toothbrush on top. Lynn is embarrassed that Amber and her group saw her driving in her aunt's van. For a brief moment, as the van pulls up to the school, you can see Amber and her gang arriving at the school as well.

Later, after Lynn gets a tour of the school from Nathaniel, she goes to her first class. Amber is seen sitting in the front row gossiping with Charlotte and Li. When Ken shows up in class and again proclaims his love for Lynn, Amber makes a snide remark to Charlotte, which the rest of the class overhears, and the entire class bursts into laughter.
