The day of the orienteering race has arrived! Will you and your teammate pass the different steps? Most importantly, will you come in first place?

Dynamic Duo is the 11th episode of My Candy Love - High School Life and the 11th episode overall of My Candy Love. It was released on November 8, 2012. It was written and developed by Beemoov.

Overview[]

The orientation race is on! With the help of her crush, Candy must navigate the way through the forest.

Summary[]

Before the episode starts, your Candy is met with ChiNoMimi, who asks your Candy who her partner is for the orientation race. Your Candy chose her partner in Episode 10 and will reply with the name of whichever boy she chose. She's then given the option to choose a new partner at the cost of 100AP or to keep her current partner. Once she makes her choice, the episode will then begin. It starts off with your Candy thinking about how today is the day of the orientation race. She immediately runs into Alexy, who asks her if she did anymore shopping since the last time they went together. He then mentions how he has to get going since he doesn't want to be forced into participating in the orientation race, and your Candy is a little disappointed he isn't joining. He then asks her to let Armin know he wants to go home quickly if she sees him, in which your Candy agrees. The two part ways and your Candy goes off to find Armin to tell him what Alexy asked her to. Along the way she runs into Kim, who is looking for Violette because they're partners for the orientation race. Your Candy hasn't seen her, and Kim leaves hoping her partner didn't bail on her. Your Candy finds Armin in the Gardening Club, where he's complaining that it's too light outside. Armin explains how he was looking around the school and ended up in the Gardening Club. He's surprised people would want to spend time outside since he doesn't like being outdoors. Violette shows up and tells Armin how Alexy wants to go home since they aren't participating in the orientation race, and your Candy mentions the same thing. She asks why he isn't participating in the race, and Armin replies that since they're new students they had the option to join the race and chose not to. Once he leaves, Violette comments how Armin is nice and once your Candy mentions Alexy, Violette becomes shy. She then mentions how she has to leave to go get her gym uniform on for the race so Kim won't get angry, and your Candy remembers she didn't buy a gym uniform. Violette tells her the gym teacher is handing them out so they all have the same uniform, so your Candy goes off to get one. Along the way she runs into Iris, who explains how she's bad at math, but has great directional skills and has high hopes of winning the race. Your Candy also sees Melody, who is excited about the race as Iris's partner. Your Candy then finds the gym teacher, Boris, who is passing out the gym uniforms. Once your Candy is wearing her uniform, she goes off to find her teammate. Once your Candy is reunited with her teammate, they head off to the Courtyard. Mrs. Shermansky also ushers the students to get ready since she doesn't like tardiness. Everyone has gathered in the courtyard where the principal makes a small speech and explains how they're going to a forest. The teachers are already waiting for them there so it's time for the class to get on the bus. Your Candy has the choice to sit with her partner or to sit with the girls. Your Candy and whoever she sits with will banter until the bus arrives at their destination.

The class looks around at the forest they're now in and your Candy thinks it's a cool place to have a race. Amber and her group approach your Candy and insult her about the gym uniform. Your Candy's teammate will be displeased with Amber's words. If your Candy goes back to the bus, Melody and Iris are there waiting for the race instructions so they have a place to sit without getting dirty. Iris invites your Candy to sit with them, but she decides to explore instead. A little ways ahead is an area where a plastic ribbon is displayed to show where the race will begin. Kim is also looking around with Violette, who is feeling unsure about the race because the forest is intimidating. Once they part ways your Candy will see the other boys, and she can choose which one to talk with. After some banter, your Candy and her partner leave the boy they had just talked to and end up running into Dakota. His uncle helped to organize the orientation race and he decided to help, as well. Dake then asks if your Candy wants to be his teammate, and your Candy can choose to stay with her current partner or be with Dake. If your Candy chooses to be with Dake, her former partner will be upset and she will continue the race with Dake as her teammate. If she chooses to stay with her current partner, Dake will leave and your partner will be grateful. Either way, your Candy and her teammate see other students have arrived, and either Dajan or Jade shows up, depending on if she chose to be in the Gardening Club or the Basketball Club. When asked if they're participating in the race, they reply that they're sort of participating, but they don't elaborate before leaving. The principal then begins to explain what exactly the orientation race is. She explains how the race will take place in three steps and during each of the steps, they'll need to find a checkpoint. At each checkpoint, there will be a person waiting who will ask the people participating in the race a question, in which they need to answer correctly to progress. The first step is about orientation and will be about moving around the forest. Every team is then given a map of the forest to keep everyone on track and your Candy's teammate will volunteer to hold onto it. The principal then wishes everyone good luck before the race begins. Once they wander a little ways into the forest, your Candy asks her teammate for the map so they can see where to go next. Your Candy's partner accidentally lost the map, however, so they'll have to figure out things without it, although navigating without it proves to be difficult. After ending up at a dead end, your Candy and her teammate have to go back to the starting spot and she worries they're off to a bad start.

They finally make it on the correct path and make it through step one. Mr. Faraize is waiting at the checkpoint and mentions how they're the last team and how he was worried they had gotten lost. Your Candy admits they lost the map and Mr. Faraize warns them to be careful. He then says how they finished the first step and how the second step will be more difficult. They'll have to find several objects and bring them back to him. They're also given a list of the objects they need to collect, a piece of paper, a pencil, and an empty bottle. Mr. Faraize then goes to stamp both your Candy's and her teammate's hand to show they made it to the first point, but he can't find the stamp. The last he saw it was when Amber and her group went through, and your Candy has a feeling she took it to slow down the other participants. Your Candy and her teammate can't progress without getting their hands stamped, so they decide to help Mr. Faraize find the stamp. Your Candy feels it's best to go confront Amber about it and they head off into the forest to find her. Along the way they run into Kim and Violette, who are looking for "an inhabitant of the forest" for their next objective for the race. Your Candy asks them if they've seen Amber and they haven't, but Kim mentions she can't be far since no one has gotten past the second step yet. They also run into Iris, who is also looking for the same thing as the other girls. Your Candy says how she's looking for Amber, and Iris mistakes it for being something on her list. Melody volunteers to talk with Amber if they see her first to help get the stamp back, and your Candy is grateful. When your Candy runs into Amber, she's surprised Mr. Faraize let them pass. Your Candy explains how she knows Amber took the stamp and her teammate also steps in to tell her to return it. Amber agrees to tell them where she put the stamp if they'll bring her the last item on their list, which is an inhabitant of the forest. Your Candy can choose to accept the terms or tell Amber to find the last object herself. Either way, your Candy and her teammate go out to find the stamp once more. As they look for it, they either find it themselves or Iris finds it for them. Your Candy and their teammate go back to Mr. Faraize and return the stamp to him, in which he is very grateful. He stamps both of their hands before they leave to start the second step.

The objective of finding the "inhabitant of the forest" is leaving most students stumped, and even Kim, who actually caught a squirrel, is having a hard time finding the real answer. Unlike everyone else, however, your Candy and teammate have the rest of the list to complete first which includes an object made by man, something shiny, a leaf the size of a hand, an inhabitant of the forest, a print, and an insect. While traveling in the woods, they first come across a pocket knife stuck in a log which is the object made by man. As the duo walk near the river, your Candy is able to grab a nugget from the river to finish the finding something shiny objective. Once the team travel back near the large tree, your Candy picks off one of the leaves to complete the objective of finding a leaf the size of a hand. Once they get to the objective to find an inhabitant of the forest, your Candy is worried since everyone is having difficulty finding it. As they look around an area of the woods that has a tree growing on the side of a small incline near a rock and a small hole, your Candy finds a plastic rabbit in the hole. Your Candy wonders how many people found the plastic rabbit since there were still a lot of them in the hole. The duo go off to find something to make a print of using the paper and pencil that were provided to them earlier and they decide to make a print of the tree bark of the big tree. Now that they have the print, all they need is an insect. As they backtrack, they find an insect near a fork in the road. With all the items in hand, the team goes back to Mr. Faraize and gives him everything. Mr. Faraize is surprised at how well they did and he leads them to the location of the third step.

Waiting at the third step location is either Dajan or Jade, who is the person helping out with this part of the race. They explain that there are letters carved into some of the trees and your Candy has to find all the letters and return to Dajan/Jade in order to tell them when the letters spell out. If they get the answer correct, they'll be able to leave the forest and get a prize. As your Candy and her teammate walk through the woods, they collect various letters a long the way that they find on trees. Once they find the 5 letters, they run into the other boys who have already found the letters, as well. As they leave to go give Dajan/Jade their answer to the letter puzzle, your Candy and her teammate also head to Dajan/Jade. Once they arrive, Dajan/Jade gives the team a questionnaire to fill out to see if they get the correct answer and are also given the hint that the answer is a capitol city. Once they fill out the questionnaire correctly, your Candy and her teammate can exit the forest and finish the race. Instead of taking the straight path, however, your Candy's teammate suggests they take a shortcut so they can pass the other team. As the duo walk around the forest, they don't see an exit in sight and before they know it, it's night and they still haven't found the correct path.

If your Candy was teammates with Nathaniel, he apologizes for suggesting they take a shortcut, but your Candy lets him know it's okay. If your Candy decides to climb on the rock to see of she can spot anyone, Nathaniel worries she'll hurt herself. She can choose to listen to Nathaniel or to still climb the rock. If she still climbs the rock, her foot slips on some moss and she hurts her ankle. Nathaniel offers for your Candy to climb onto his back and he carries her as they look for the rest of the class. The duo then gets called on by Castiel and Lysander, who are both irritable when talked to.

If your Candy was teammates with Castiel, he admits his idea wasn't very good and your Candy wonders what they should do. Castiel suggests they stop where they are since it's pointless to walk around in circles. Your Candy can either disagree and tell him they need to keep looking or she can agree with him. If she agrees, Castiel throws his jacket to her before telling her to put it on and sit up against a tree. She can agree to put on the jacket and sit against the tree or to get angry and throw the jacket back at him. If she chooses to do as Castiel asks, he will say how he's exhausted before laying down and putting his head on your Candy's legs. Your Candy wonders is he's loosening up with her before Nathaniel and Lysander show up.

If your Candy was teammates with Lysander, he is sorry for suggesting they take a shortcut. He stops talking when he hears a noise and your Candy can say they should go see if it's someone or she can say that it could be a bear. If your Candy says it could be a bear, Lysander mentions how he's pretty sure there aren't any bears in the forest. A deer then appears in front of them and your Candy is excited since she's never seen one so close. Your Candy then can choose to either stay still or to try and touch it. If your Candy chooses to try and touch it, Lysander will tell her to wait for it to come to them. The deer starts to go near the duo, but they're distracted when Nathaniel and Castiel arrive. Both the boys are irritated that Lysander is touching your Candy even after she explains it was because she wanted to touch the deer, but he was making sure she didn't make a mistake.

The boys had been out searching for your Candy along with Mr. Faraize while the other students had already gone home. Even though the principal is upset about the situation, she was too relieved to give them detention. With all the chaos, they never find out who won the race and your Candy goes home to finally relax after a long day.

PART 4 : The second step

PART 5 : The third step + ending

P A R T 1:

Introduction

There are 4 illustrations in this episode, one per teammate.

It’s the big day. After hearing Peggy talk about it, after handing out all the forms, putting up flyers on the walls and walking the halls to choose a partner, it’s finally the day of the race!

This episode relies on a choice made in episode 10. Normally, you would have had to to replay this episode to change your decision, but we’ve made it a bit easier. You are given the chance to change your teammate for the race for 100APs.

Episode11Chino

You will be unable to advance until you accumulate 100 APs.

Alexy comes to see you to talk about what you did together (if you got the illustration from episode 10). He isn’t participating in the race as he just got to school, and is about to go home. He gives you a message to pass on to Armin.

➜ Objective: Go find Armin to find out if he will be participating in the race or not.

Armin is in the Gardening Club. He isn’t participating either, he doesn’t like being outside. Violette comes and lets you know you don’t have your uniform. You must go find the person responsible for the students.

➜ Objective: Ask the new teacher for a uniform.

Episode11OutfitPreview

Boris is in Classroom B. Once you’ve found him, buy the uniform to finish the dialogue and pass to the next objective.

➜ Objective: Find your teammate for the race

He is in the staircase. He is already in his uniform. You will have to go to the courtyard to find out more information about the race. As of now, your teammate will always be with you and this until the end of the episode. This is a great occasion to raise your L’O’M with him!

P A R T 2:

The start of the race

Episode11DakeJadeDajan

Once you are in the courtyard, the principal will explain the specifics of the race. Then you get on the bus to go to the forest. Once you get there, you have to get off the bus to unlock a new objective.

➜ Objective: Visit the different places of the race.

You should find all the teams from your school :

   - Kim and Violette
   - Iris and Melody
   - Amber, Li and Charlotte
   - The Boys (depends on your teammate)

Once you have met all the teams, you can meet a boy you met during a previous episode: Dake. He is participating in the race as his uncle, Boris, participated in the organisation. He will ask you if you want to do the race with him.

➜ You can say yes and finish the episode with him

(However, your teammate will not appreciate this at all)

In the case you officially change your teammate (Dake will take care of it).

You will have to go to the start of the race for the change to be completed.

Once that is done, Dake will be with you until the end of the episode.

➜ You can say no and continue the episode with your teammate

Dake simply leaves.

Depending on what you say, your teammate will appreciate your choice.

➜ Objective: Look to see if the students from the other school have arrived to start the race.

You will have to move around until to see Jade or Dajan, they are here to participate in the race too. You cannot be teammates with them because they aren’t “really” participating (you’ll find out later what they are doing.)

➜ Objective: Go to the starting area to hear the instructions and start the race!

Once you are there, the principal will start explaining the race..

She gives you a map that your teammate takes directly.

You can now start the first part of the race: orientation !

P A R T 3:

The first step

The first dialogue to unlock is with your teammate. They have lost the map and you will have to figure out the race without it.

➜ Objective: Find the first check point

Episode11Losers

The directions you need to take are different depending on the session. One of two maps will be given to you at random and there are three choices to make in total.

Map 1

Episode11Map1

Map 2

Episode11Map2

If you don’t make any mistakes, you will win a bit of LOM with your partner on each correct move.

Once you’ve taken the right path you will find Mr. Faraize who is taking care of the second step of the race. You have now finished the first part of the race!

P A R T 4:

The Second Step

➜ Objective : Talk to Amber about Mr. Faraize's lost item, just in case...

Mr. Faraize lost his stamp that allows you to pass on to the next step. The last person that passed through was Amber, so you need to go ask her about the stamp, just in case...You need to have talked to Iris to talk to Amber. Once you have her in front of you, she will admit that she took the stamp but that she left it in the forest. You will need to return and find it if you want to move on to the next step.

➜ Objective: Find the stamp hidden in the forest

There are two ways to find the stamp :

   - At the food of a tree, in the area near the rocks.
   - From Iris who already found it.

Episode11Stamp

Once you have the stamp you need to give it to Mr. Faraize, who is at the beginning of the second step. You can then start the hunt for the objects!

➜ Objective: Find all the objects on the list and return to see Mr. Faraize.

The second step is a treasure hunt. You need to find several items:

   - an object created by man
   - something shiny
   - a leaf as big as a hand
   - an inhabitant of the forest (insects don’t count)
   - a print
   - an insect

Episode11TreasureHunt

The print is found in the big tree, after a dialogue with your partner. They will give you hints about the areas where each object can be found during this part. Once you have found all the objects, you can return to see Mr. Faraize to go on to the third and final step.

For all the messages concerning Mr. Faraize who couldn’t be found, for the stamp or the end of the second step, well, it’s not a bug, and here is a little hint to help you: head towards the stream and then the beginning of each step. You will then find your favorite teacher!

Episode11MrFaraize

P A R T 5:

The third step + end

You will find Jade or Dajan, depending on your club, who will ask you to find the letters scattered in the decor. These letters form a word, which you will have to tell him when you see him a second time. You need to find 5 letters!

There are five places, five letters. One letter in each place.

Episode11Letters

Once you have found all the letters, return to see your friend at the beginning of step three. He will ask you what word these letters form:

The word is "P A R I S".

➜ Objective: Try to get out of the forest to finish the episode!!

You and your teammate get lost when you try to take a shortcut. You need to move around to find an exit until you unlock a final sequence in the episode. You will be able to go on your date only if you choose the correct dialogues (except for Dake, who needs just one right answer). Once you’ve gotten the illustration you are found by Mr. Faraize and one of the boys from school (other than your partner) if you have a good affinity with them!

That’s all folks!

See you for episode 12 !

Nathaniel[]

So do I. I hope everything goes well, I was a little apprehensive as we sometimes we play a little.

  • A. Do not worry, we’ll have fun! +
  • B. If you were not as difficult as...
  • C. That’s true...

What spirit! It’s nice to see!

  • A. Ah, oh, maybe I’m getting a little too carried away. +
  • B. It’s normal, isn’t it? I’m going to spend a whole day with you!
  • C. Funny, cause I’m not that interested in this thing... -

Do you want to sit next to me during the trip?

  • A. Of course! +
  • B. I would prefer to stay with the girls, sorry. -

Yes, of course.

  • A. Have you already had a girlfriend? I mean a serious relationship. (better choice) =
  • B. If I hadn’t asked you to participate in the race with me, would you have asked me? =

I’m not sure... Melody should know, she asked me to go out with her just after my last relationship. She should remember.

  • A. Oh, ok. I’ll ask her if I remember.
  • B. Oh, ok. Wait... Melody asked you out?! = (+ or)

Certainly. I’ll be waiting to see if you do not prefer to do it with someone else.

  • A. And you would not want me to go with someone other than you? =
  • B. Clearly, you would have been too shy to ask me to come with you? =

I do not know... I would have been disappointed in any case it is safe. But I can quite understand that you prefer to stay with your friends with me.

  • A. Even if I had teamed up with another boy? =
  • B. I’m sure you will be much more fun with you than with the girls! +

...You wanted to race with Lysander or Castiel?

  • A. In fact, the new student I liked, you know, Alexy.
  • B. I would have loved to race Castiel yes...
  • C. No, I just wanted to see your reaction. -

At the same time, you did not let me in time... As soon as you knew you had to choose a teammate, you came to see me.

  • A. I was afraid that someone will choice you as a teammate before me. =
  • B. I was impatient, sorry...

I think so, yeah. If there is a ribbon, it’s to prevent us from crossing over it.

  • A. Yeah, because a plastic ribbon is really going to keep us from advancing... -
  • B. (Don’t say anything) =

I’m embarrassed for her... Placing such importance on such idiotic things...

  • A. Yeah... But is she right? Do you think the uniform doesn’t look good on me? =
  • B. It’s nothing... I should be used to it! =

No, I must have dropped it on the way here...We can backtrack to try and find it? But with the wind, it might not be worth it because it probably blew away...

  • A. Next time, let me take care of things! -
  • B. Great! We are really in trouble now!
  • C. We’ll figure out another way then. = (+ or)

In the end this race wasn’t such a bad idea. I’m having fun!

  • A. Lucky...
  • B. Oh yeah? Cool! I was scared you would be bored with me! +

With Lysander. We had to be teammates, but it doesn't bother me at all.

  • A. Oh! Be careful to not get lost with him! He really has his head in the clouds!
  • B. Oh ok! If you're ok with it then! =
  • C. You didn't want to participate with someone else? =

In any case, we are lost... What are we going to do now?

  • A. We can backtrack, we will surely find something... =
  • B. I will climb on a rock, maybe we will see someone? (Towards Illustration) =

Maybe we should backtrack, you might hurt yourself...

  • A. You’re right... =
  • B. No, I’ll just climb up to see! (Illustration) =

Castiel[]

Such enthusiasm... Is it because you know you are going to spend the day with me?

  • I'm happy, that's for sure!. +
  • Is that what you think? -
  • No, not even... -

Are you coming to sit next to me or are you going to leave me be?

  • A. I don’t really want to leave you alone! =
  • B. I’m going to stay with the girls. See you later! -

...Why did you want to do the race with me?

  • A. No one else wanted to... -
  • B. Do you have any more ridiculous questions like that? +

Rebellious today aren’t we?

  • A. I’ve always been like this I’ll have you know! =
  • B. You have to admit, it was silly to ask that... -

  • A. Actually... Would you have asked me to participate in the race with you if I hadn’t asked you? (better option) =
  • B. Actually... I was wondering have you ever been in a serious relationship with a girl. =

Excuse me?

  • A. N-No nothing... =
  • B. Have you ever been in a serious relationship with a girl? =

It’s not really my thing to ask those types of questions.

  • A. You wouldn’t have been mad if I had chosen another boy then? -
  • B. Oh, I’m glad I asked then. = (+ or)

I think...

  • A. Say... Do you want to go see a little further? =
  • B. (Don’t say anything) =

Yeah, I’m serious! And? It’s never happened to you?

  • A. Hey! Watch the attitude. This is all your fault. -
  • B. Breath, we’ll figure it out with your "great" sense of direction... +
  • C. Next time, I’ll be in charge of things! -

Being out in the forest isn’t so bad.

  • A. You say you hate the forest, then you say you like it... You should make up your mind! =
  • B. Ah? Cool then, I was scared that you were bored with me. =

We can just stop here, it won’t do anything to continue running around in circles. If there are looking for us they will find us here.

  • A. We can’t stay here doing nothing, and what if they aren’t looking for us? =
  • B. Maybe you’re right but... (Towards Illustration) =

Put that on... you’re capable of catching a cold. And sit down against that tree there.

  • A. Uh... Ok...(He is talking to me like I’m his dog... and I just obey... I’m an idiot) (Illustration)
  • B. What?! But I don’t have to listen to you... especially if you talk to me like that. (Throw his jacket back at him)

Lysander, who else would I be with?

  • A. Oh yeah, you are good friends. =
  • B. Be careful, he can get you lost in this forest. = (- with Lysander)
  • C. You could have been someone else’s teammate...

Lysander[]

What energy!

  • A. Maybe I’m exaggerating a bit... +
  • B. Normal! This race should be great! =
  • C. You don’t look too excited though... -

Are you coming to sit down {$Pseudo}? There are some seats in the back of the bus.

  • A. Yeah, I’m coming! +
  • B. Sorry, but I’m going to stay with the girls for the trip! See you afterwards! -

I hope that everything will go smoothly...I have a few doubts about the race…I have never had a very good sense of direction...

  • A. I’ve noticed that about you... ha ha! +
  • B. Well, I guess we’re in trouble, because neither do I... =
  • C. Me neither, but we should have a map! We will be able to figure it out! -

We’ll see how things will evolve, but I do not think we will succeed in winning anything.

  • A. Do not go to this principle there! We will win it I’m sure!
  • B. I do not play for winning but for having fun! +

You just did, but you can ask another one if you’d like.

  • A. Have you already had a girlfriend? =
